Hmmm, in the interest of boredom prevention, I'll limit myself to 5, in no order:
Billy Gibbons
Mark Knopfler
Jimmy Page
Dimebag Darrell
David Gilmour

And I've heard of all those classical dudes mentioned above. I even know
a couple of their songs, the easy ones, but nonetheless.

Jason Becker is better than Malmsteen at writing music. Michael Angelo Batio makes Yngwie look like a toddler at speed. Satriani and Vai are more innovative than Yngwie.

Don't ignorantly pass off other artist because it doesn't sound like Yngwie's music. Its all about taste and what you like to hear.

Actually I was referring to a pattern you see in a lot of guitarists favorites lists. I never liked him much to begin with, but that had nothing to do with what I was saying.

I enjoy a lot of guitarists..it's hard to pick..i'll do a top 10

1. Jimmy Page
2. Steve Vai
3. EVH
4. Yngwie Malmsteen
5. Ritchie Blackmore
6. Pat Metheny
7. Wes Montgomery
8. Kevin Eubanks
9. Liona Boyd
10. Mr. Hendrix

I am in no way claiming that these are the greatest guitarists ever, or any such nonsense. The list simply represents my favorite individual guitarists. :p
