Just keep at it hey, scales are a great place to start, but i t is essential(!) that you use a metronome, make sure you start slowly and only increase the tempo when you can play the scale or lick flawlessly every time, and I mean FLWLESSLY, if you do this, I guarantee you will see improvement soon.
Also check out some of the tricks on this site, there are many many awesome soloing tips and licks etc as well as excersizes and the like, check it all out, but the most important part, and almost every1 on this forum will agree with me, is that you use a Metronome. :D
