Started on 6stg. forced to play bass cause I wasn't as good as the other guitar players in the band. Moved up to fretless. Recently playing an upright bass fiddle backing up a singer/songwriter/blues guitarist. I love the bass!! I don't even call myself a guitarplayer anymore. I'm a bassist and damn proud of it!! But it sure dosen't hurt to be able to sing a little, play a little harp or sax. If your'e versitile, you can pretty much pick and choose your band. My advice for bass players; learn to sing.
