I know that financial situations don't always allow it, but I would try to move into a house as soon as I could. You are "loosing" your money when you rent, but I totaly understand that making the down payment on a house sometimes is not an option. Even if you buy a house and have a few guys to rent it out, you are "making" money as the house goes up in value.
