OKay I know how to do them, that's no problem. My problem is applying them. I mean I understand you can do some nifty little things where you let one note ring out and play others at the same time (like at the beggining of ERic Johnson's "Cliffs of Dover") But what would I do with them in a more scalar fashion? I"ve been trying to figure this out, but all IO can get is nice little lick that repeat, everytime I try to improvise with them in long solo lines, they sound like crap. I need them to sound more melodic. Can anyone help expand my understanding?
