What you should do, I think, is to take a look at beginner lessons. I think Jon Broderick mentioned he has a page, I'm sure this site has such lessons, and so does this site.
That way you get to get a handle on quite a lot of basic stuff.
Otherwise you're going to have to start[u] a lot of threads[/u] before you can play your first complete song.
