yes, an acoustic/electric can be plugged into a regular electric guitar amp. The difference is, the acoustic amp is designed to be flat so it can reproduce the sounds of the acoustic accurately, and using the eq's and such to enhance these natural tones. An electric gutiar's amp is designed to produce it's own tone in conjunction with the electric gutar. Even the speaker's are made to have a certain eq curve that is specific to electric guitars. Acoustic amps speakers are designed to be flat so they don't color the sound any. A keyboard amp would also work well for an acoustic/electric since they are also designed to reproduce the natural tone of whatever is plugged into them.
