What you need is a Magnavox-era Ampeg V-series amp. A V-2 head or VT-40 combo (60 Watts, 4x10"), or a V-4 head or VT-22 combo (120 Watts, 2x12") made in the 70's will fit the bill exactly. There's no channel-switching unless you add something external (easy to do), but the tone controls are the best that's ever been. And you can still pick these up fairly cheap, about half the cost of the amps you're looking at buying new. And much better sound, IMO.
