I love Jimi Hendrix, but i dont' try to play like him at all, i'm just constantly in awe of him collosal talents.
I can't get enough of Randy Rhoads, i definitely suggest trying out the Ozzy good stuff he did avec Randy. I suggest "Crazy Train", "Over the Mountain"(i really only like the solo), and "Mr.Crowley" as starters.
Ozzy also did some work with Jake E. Lee, i suggest "Bark At The Moon" to sample his brilliance.
also, early Metallica have great soloing and riffing capabilities that definitely inspire.
i love punk energy and rhythms and the whole life behind it.
I would suggest Pennywise and any one of their six albums, i might suggest their latest one "Land of the Free?" but any one is great work.
Blink 182 is always good. anything, Enema of the State, The Mark Tom and Travis Show, but Take Off Your Pants and Jacket is too mainstream pour moi.
hope i helped a bit, i just love all metal mostly. oldschool had the riffs and solos that made it all possibe, so check out Ozzy and early Metallica and definitely Black Sabbath.
