It's so wierd how we qualify "great" players. To many, Hendirx was a god, Clapton, was declared a god. Now don't get me wrong, but SRV is one of my all timers! But...SV or JS, or Malmsteen have "forgotten" more than the collective above will ever know. OR HAVE THEY?

Playing fast, does not make you great. Me, I can't handle Malmie for more than 20 mins at at time. Too many notes, too little music (his shred stuff of course, his classical is outstanding!)

Lindsay is an oddity, he makes music. New, digestible music. BTW, I play my Gibson 5str. banjo much in the same way LB plays his Turner!

Anyway, beauty is in the ear of the listener. And "Bleed to love her" is beauty in my ears.

I've seen BB King, 5-6 times live, same old, same old. *I* can play "The thrill is gone with more " sh!t" happening than 'ol BB! Or so my pride tells me.

Bottom line... your ears and your heart will buy the albums (did I say albums? damn, so frikk'in old) ... CD's.

But as a student of the guitar, listen and learn from the technical masters. The Vai's the Satrianis the Malms., Blackmores, Segovias, et,al.

But enjoy and play the pops as well. I bet Lindsay B. has sold more CDs that all of the above yes?

With the exception of the 5 power-cord wonder of Richie Blackmore and Smoke O.T.W. But Listnen to RB on Whitsnake. He *can* play more than 5 cords!

Just my thoughts, from an old time slinger.

Cheers...Randy
