meet somewhere neutral first... pub etc just to make sure he's not a nutcase or sum 40yr old insurance salesman with a game leg (no offence to insurance salesmen, 40yr olds or people with game legs...).
but usually as long as he doesnt go by the name "Dr. Lector" and hasn't said "come meet me in the dark woods and come alone..." you're probably ok.
there are plenty of legit people on the net, u've just got to look out for the nutters :D
