Those things are poorly made. Very unreliable stuff. I don'y know how you can fix it, but next time try a Morley Bad Horsie, or (if you must have the same sound) Dunlop's Bad Horsie ripoff, the 95Q Crybaby. Both are switchless and use electro optical circuitry.
