wow, 1000 man I envy you....

you sound like a guy who knows alot about guitars and you seem dedicated enough to spend $1000, so im not sure if my adivce would help.

So you say you like shredding, hairmetal, all the way the thrash. Umm... try a Jackson, they make pretty versitile guitars when it comes to hard rock and are not half bad either. Im not very knowledgeable about Jackson guitars so I wouldnt know which neck is the best for shedding. Though I have played on the U.S.A. Soloist and that guitar makes me sound like Dave Mustaine (dont know if thats good or bad...) But if you want more a flashy guitar for concerts, try a Jackson Corina Kelly. They might be above 1000, but they are really good guitars especially for thrash. The only bad think about Kellys in general is, their necks are way to fat and thick. Though I dont know what your personal preferance is, so I coundnt tell.

You know, with a 1000, you really shouldnt be asking us cause its all up to you. Finding a PERFECT guitar for a person which fitts his every needs with that kind of money is not hard.

Just look around and dont hisitate. You can always return it.
O yea, make sure if you do get a Jackson, that it comes with Seymor Duncans
