I'm wondering if any of you guru's might be able to help explain how to put together a midi-guitar set up. What I would like to do is record via a sequencer (cubase, logic etc..) and play vsti's with a midi-guitar (instead of the usual keyboard).

I've seen the roland midi pickup that they use to do pitch to midi plugged into their synths but I don't think I really need the synth since the vsti (and/or the dx instruments) will be doing all the work anyway.

Anyone doing midi guitar stuff for hard drive recording?
