1.Technigque
Listen it boils down to thumb placement behind the neck. If u have ure thumb peeking out from the top of ure neck when ure hitting notes on the High -E- string (granted ure geetar is tuned to standard E) u won't be able to stretch far at all EVER! Now place ure thumb in the middle of the neck - usually theres a kind of lining on the neck but ure thumb should be roughly behind the 3rd and 4th strings (the two middle ones!) now try ure stretches - u should be able to move from the first fret to the 12th with alot less effort

2) TRULY stretching
My cuzzin taught me everything i needed to cover metallica in one summer vacation - one tip he told me to do daily was to
a) stretch the inner lining / webing o ure hands - this is done by u griping the neck aroudn the first fret with ure index and middle finger placed on either ends of the neck - above and below. have the webbing touch the neck it self! hold this for 30 seconds then move it up a fret - wait 30s then cont till u hit the 12th fret. repeat with the other fingers.

b)Then do crazy chromatic patterns up and down the neck not ure standard 1234 3rd grade shannigans but ure 1346 take that pattern all over - then take 1235 allover and then hit 1345 all over. Soon u'll b stretching like pro!

keep it at
