You can't expect ANY guitar to sound as good tuned way down when its 'setup' to play in standard tuning.Have your guitar setup for the lower tuning...They might adjust the truss rod,slap on some heavier strings(13's) e.c.t.

But before you do that,try raising the pickups a bit.
