The truth is,without constant challenge you will plateau very quikly(feel like your not getting better). In some players(myself included)that plateau can only be broken in two ways.

1:Constant learning and challenge.
2:Actual growth as a human being physically and mentally!Isn't that crazy? It sounds it,but I broke one plateau just that way...I approched the guitar as a different person due to human growth!

The second one isn't forced and can't be induced(in any way I know of...dont confuse human development with learning...your growth is affected by learning no doubt, but the natural progress of youself is determined by billions of variables like genetics, biological chemistry e.c.t.)

So...ah..just practice and dont cease learning cause that second one there is uh...not..easy.
Try once,fail twice...

You can plug a multi-effects box like a POD into the "line in" jack of your sound card. Or, for that matter, you could plug it into an Auxilliary input of your stereo. The effects and amplifier simulation are all done digitally within the unit, so you wouldn't necessarily have to run through a computer to hear it. Anything that could boost the output enough to drive speaker(s) would do.

The POD also has a headphones socket, great for when theirs more than one person in the house !

I have and still use a Pod Pro (mac daddy version of the PodV2) sounds great. I recently sold a GNX2 as next to the pod it sounded horrible.

It is also possible to pick up a PodV2 on eBay for not many bucks:

Check this out !

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=41419&item=3762688516&rd=1

The second one has a "buy it now" price of 150 bucks, thats about 75 quid !

Im not sure wether thay will ship internationally, or how much shipping will be so I'd check before you bid ! You mnay also need to watch out for US power (110 V).

>sigh< It's not easy being majorly buff, brilliantly talented, incisively intellectual, and commendably modest.

That's why it takes two of us to pull it off!

Such madness.... I love it! :)

Well the guitar arrived yesterday, only 2 days after I won it! A world record on ebay for me. I've caused a few dulcit tones as I attempt to work out what to do with it and may have to give in and get lessons...very soon!
I did find a program for the computer that works well, guitarFX, just plug your guitar into the line in and away you go. not bad sounds either. However, on a visit to the music shop today to get a lead and a few other bits I asked about amps and had a demo of the Line 6 Spider 2.....I want one!!!! It really sounds great, and even if I can't play, at least I won't be able to play i style! :)
