With the coils wired in series, you can get pretty much any humbucking sound you want. In parallel, the sound is closer to a single coil, while still being quiet. Using just one of the coils gives you access to single-coil sounds (including the noise). Everything else on the market is just variations on what this pickup started 30 years ago.[/font]
