Be totally honest when you see her.
Tell her she looks really nice today and start talking to her.
Somethere in the conversation drop a hint like " so.... are you dating or are you invovled with somebody"

Then you'll know for sure.

Of course, this doens't work if you're old enough to be her father... in which case you come of as being a total pervert.
