I guess the trick is to try and learn songs that you like to listen to. I remember when I was first learning guitar I tried to play power chords over songs like:

When I Come Around - Green Day
Song #2 - Blur
Smells like teen spirit - Nirvana

Those are all easyish chord progressions. Find a song you like and search for the tab on a search engine or maybe on www.wholenote.com.
