About the course

Licks are the essential building blocks of guitar solos and riffs, and this collection has got them in spades!

We’ve bundled lessons from a variety of genres to present a complete cross-section of the tools needed to play creative and expressive leads.

Included here are killer rock, blues, country, funk, shred, and bluegrass licks to keep you busy for weeks of fun practice! Digging into this collection is sure to boost your soloing chops and deepen your well of tasty lead work!

Included In This Package:

In this set of lessons, Anders Mouridsen will teach you a library of go-to rock licks. Anders will first talk about these "meat and potatoes" licks and dial in a good tone, then break down four standard licks you can use in your soloing. Then we'll mix up all the licks in different ways, and do some improvising.

Christopher will show you some basic blues licks that form the foundation of blues soloing vocabulary. This includes the following characteristics of blues lead playing: using the blues scale (minor pentatonic scale with flat 5th "blue note"), triplet swing phrasing, dynamics and articulations like sliding and bending. This is essentially a primer on playing single note melody lines in a blues style to start building a repertoire of blues licks.

Anders starts exploring the concept of "licks" as a language of musical statements. He takes the ideas learned in previous course tutorials and show you how to use them as the building blocks as a starting point for your own country style improvisation.

In this first tutorial in my Bluegrass Lick Library series is for the novice guitar player who wants to venture into the land of bluegrass guitar. I will give you nine simple licks that you can use over a standard I IV V chord progression in the key of G major. We will practice them one by one, then three at a time, and ultimately all of them one after the other. Good luck!

Bluegrass Lick Library G2 builds on the Bluegrass Lick Library G1 tutorial. Here I will increase the difficulty a little bit, still keeping it fairly simple as far as bluegrass goes. We will play over the same backing track as the G1 tutorial - G | C | D | G | - and I will show you nine more licks to add to your personal lick library.
