Meet Full Access Subscriber #10,000!

Meet Full Access Subscriber #10,000!

Blake Ingley, from Brownwood, Texas.
Blake is the 10,000th subscriber to
Guitar Tricks Full Access service.

We at Guitar Tricks are thrilled to welcome Blake Ingley, Full Access subscriber #10,000!

Blake lives in the small town of Brownwood, Texas, right in the heart of the Lone Star state. Blake has been playing guitar for two years on and off. He tells us he was playing the same thing over and over, and joined Guitar Tricks to put some life and variety into his guitar playing.

Blake found Guitar Tricks through a web search for guitar lessons. When asked about why he decided to upgrade his free account, he said "The site looked professional, and the price was outstanding. There was no reason not to upgrade."

It has been only a few weeks since Blake took the plunge, and already he is noticing improvement in his dexterity, pinky strength and playing speed.

According to Blake, the most important changes he has made in his playing are in the picking department. "I used to avoid alternate picking. But since I have been on this site, I realize how important it is. I used to play mostly/all downstrokes, but my rhythm playing suffered from that style. You have to learn to upstroke."

Blake's favorite Guitar Tricks instructor (so far, of course!) is Christopher Schlegel. Blake aspires to learn classical guitar, and remarked that Christopher's lessons are "really in-depth."

Blake has been very disciplined in his studies these last few weeks, concentrating on exercises, picking technique, and getting comfortable moving about the fretboard.

We want to thank Blake for being Full Access subscriber #10,000 and allowing us to share his story with you. We also would like to thank all of our thousands of Full Access subscribers. We appreciate your faith in us and we want you to know that we are constantly working behind the scenes to bring you more and better guitar information every day.

" Truly this is the BEST LEARNING site I have ever seen...

I have never played metal and it took me a couple of days to get the rythym, etc down..but after a LOT of practice its starting to come along. Thanks for sharing, I really mean that. This is by far the best learning site i have ever had the pleasure to learn from.

...its only a matter of time before I get the hang of the timing for this kinda music. You have kinda opened a different door for me. I am looking forward to your new lesson...I have played around with a few of your lessons and they have made an impression on me. I just keep practicing and those doors and starting to open..

Thanks again, keep on rockin'"

"This site should be of immense help for thousands of people out there for whom playing guitar is such a big dream!"
" I just joined guitartricks as a full access member and I'm going through the Beginner's guide.

I first tried tuning the guitar and I was curious to check out your Guitar Tuning problems section to see if it has any extra help. And I find it amazing.

You wouldn't believe I've been tuning my guitar the usual way for endless years and this is the first time in my life I figured out that I'm actually tuning closer to the fourth fret like it says in the First part of your article.

The difference in sound is so subtle that I wouldn't have been able to identify if without the method you have given there!

I'm hoping I'd be able to achieve my dream of playing guitar with the lessons on your site!

Thank you very much for such a site and I hope you would continue to post high quality lessons to people like me for whom learning to play the guitar is a huge passion!

Cheers!"

-- Dayavanth Emmanuel, India

"I can't believe what I am now doing!"
"Am a beginner and I just started with Guitar Tricks. I decided to start with an 8 lesson set from Lisa McCormick on Acoustic Fingerpicking. What an instructor. She made it so easy and natural. I can't believe what I'm now doing. Nothing short of fantastic.

I would recommend your service to anybody who is serious about playing and enjoying themselves doing it!"

-- Bill Bertalan

"For years I wanted to jam...now it's easy"
"Wow... so far not much can be improved, this is an amazing Web site. For years i wanted to jam but when you are alone, it's kind of hard to do. Now with the jam session you have there it's easy to do. And also since 2 days I have learn stuff that I wanted to do for years. Well... there only one word for your site, and it's 'good job Guys... well done'"

-- Patrick from Ottawa, Ontario Canada

"Your site is an eye-opener"
"I find guitartricks a treasure trove of goodies on all things guitar. Thanks alot. I have played classics guitar for 30 yrs and am now embarking on a discovery journey of Country, Blues and Jazz genre. Your site is an eye-opener. I thought I know all there is to guitar playing, now I realize I know [not as much]."

-- Casey M, Malaysia

"guitartricks.com rocks!"
"guitartricks.com rocks. Really good! I'm finding it perfect for the way I like to practice; lessons and jams are the perfect combination. Well done for putting together a really useful resource."

-- Nicholas W, Chesterfield, UK

"The most comprehensive guitar self learning place on the net!"
" This site is most the comprehensive guitar self learning place on the net!! Wow!! Also there is nothing more I love to do than sit down with some great jam tracks and employ exotic scales and rip through some monster riffs harmonic minor style!... Quality and I mean high quality in all styles! Amazing and the fact it loops forever is great because it really is disturbing when you are in the moment hitting the right note in the right scale to highlight the ringing chord in the backround making it so pronounced! "

-- Joseph M., West Haven, CT

"Sounding much better than two weeks ago"
"I decided to teach myself guitar as my schedule really won't allow for scheduled instruction. I subscribed to a couple different online teaching sites and I did learn some from them, but a couple of weeks ago I stumbled upon your lessons and wanted more, so I signed up for the Full Access Service to get the most out of them.

I imagine you upload the lessons without really knowing if anybody is actually getting anything out of them. Just to let you know: I am! In fact, about half an hour ago my wife just commented on how much better I'm sounding as opposed to a few weeks ago!

"

-- Chris, Virginia Beach, VA

"Always looking for new material...it's great!"
"Indeed I am enjoying the tips and licks from obviously talented guitarists. I have been playing for 25 years and am always looking for new stuff... its great!"

-- Kenny C., Corsicana, TX

"Now I can see how important they are"
" I have never bothered to learn any scales and now I can see how important they really are. I can see just how limited my playing skills are. I play stuff like Sultans of Swing, Hotel California, Free Bird Etc: I have no idea as to how i got to play these songs, not knowing scales, but i have got them down pretty close. If you were to ask me as to why i go to, and play certain notes on the guitar neck, i would tell you i have not got the faintest idea, except that it sounds right to my ear. Pretty silly way of playing guitar don't you think? Always guessing. Any way thanks for your time and keep up that awesome guitar playing. Eric. "

-- Eric Graf, Kelowna,B.C.

"I've learned more in the last 3 hours"
"Just wanted to say thanks a lot! Great site. I'm a self-taught beginner; about two years now. I've occasionally purchased instructional books, but I've learned more from the last 3 hours spent at your site than from all prior experiences put together. Again, thank you! This is the best lesson I've ever had..."

-- John D, So. Cal

"It's just a wonderful concept"
"Hey Jon,
It's just a wonderful concept learning guitar through internet I'm playing for 20 years now but since Bill Gates I'm Flying keep up the good work U rule"

-- Leon, Heerlen, NL

"On my schedule"
"I want to thank you for making this service available on line. I am truly appreciative of the hard work you put into the site. It is excellent. I am an older rock player without much free time and this gives me the opportunity on my schedule to upgrade my blues licks, etc."

-- Brian, Nashville, TN

"It's been a long time since my fingers were this sore!"
" Hey Jon

I just started using the site last night and I love it, I have played for years and now my son is just getting started and this site is great for us both, we will be members forever. It's been a long time since my fingers have been this sore. Hats off to Terry Couch I'm really enjoying his stuff. Thanks,"

-- Herm L, Belleville, Ontario, Canada

"I realized that the whole pentatonic system made sense!"
" ok-when I saw the pentatonic scale (I think I'm spelling it right), it kind of made sense, but I didn't take much from it. However, when I decided to see what the "tricks" were all about, I listened to the [sound] files and followed the tab and I ended up playing tricks that I thought were really cool and also relatively easy. I spent like two hours going through a bunch of tricks, and after a little break and then going back, I realized that the whole pentatonic system made sense. And in my limited perspective, I think it's much less difficult than I thought, and fairly easy to at least play a little improvisational stuff. So anyway, I'm just psyched that I could put on "Knockin on Heaven's Door" (preferably Dylan's version) and then play up and down the pentatonic scale doing some of those tricks. It may not be much, but I don't know a single note on the guitar so to make this leap is really exciting."

-- EL, New York, NY

"The best investment"
" I really love the site and I know that it is absolutely the best investment I could ever make. "

-- Shane, Troy,MI

"We can't believe how easy!"
" Hi Jon,
Just a quick note to say that I got a chance to look around the site last night and it is AWESOME!!! Can't get enough. Had a ball with my son. We can't believe how much info is on there and how easy some of the lessons are to pick up. Thanks heaps for a great site! Worth every cent."
