BOOM CHICK FINGERPICKINGSignUp Now
Boom Chick Fingerpicking
You may have heard of "boom chick strumming" before, where you play the bass note, then strum the chord etc. Boom chick fingerpicking is similar, but here your thumb will have to do all of the rhythm section work so the rest of your fingers can focus on the melody. This style of playing was used a lot by the great Chet Atkins. Today, one of the masters of this style is called Tommy Emmanuel.
I will start by introducing you to boom chick fingerpicking, and in the four lessons that follow, I will teach you a little song I wrote just for this tutorial. We will start with the thumb, then add some chord hits, and ultimately we will learn the melody and put it all together. Let's dive in!
