hey, has anyone seen any Yngwie tutorial vids? theres one instructional video where he is showing you his favourite licks, classical influenced phrases and arpeggios ( waring a quite frightening purple jacket! ) and showing you the picking technique. now i think this video is great as he shows you the licks at Yngwie speed but then he shows you the licks slow. this you may be thinking is a great thing as you can learn from the 'slow' licks, except for the fact that the 'slow' licks are still 100mph! I dont know if its me not being able to figure out the so called 'slow' lick or if its Yngwie going way to fast. Has anyone else seen this video and if you have could you transcribe the licks for me please .

No, actually, it's not legal. Those video clips you're talking about are pirated excerpts from Yngwie's instructional video/DVD which is copyrighted. I would suggest buying the DVD if you really want to learn the licks, but I don't think it's worth it. You'd be better off getting a better video -- Yngwie's just shows a couple licks, no real theory behind how he creates the licks. I'll transcribe one lick I learned from my DVD, which I think is the most commonly available on the net... it's an A Minor run, and all played on the high e string.



It's been a while since I've seen the video, so that second to last note may be a G#, and not a G, because it's pretty characteristic of Malmsteen to use the Harmonic Minor in his licks.

I bought that DVD.... unfortunately my computer doesn't read it so I can't get the PDF files off of it.... I brought it to my friend's house... but they won't let me print out 48 pages of tab... go figure.

But I will figure out a way to get the files... then I'll send them to ya... it's not a big priority for me though... cuz I pretty much don't like shred.
