if your budget allows get a Damage control solid metal, you will never desire another metal distortion pedal again. (well at least I don't and I have about 6 metal distortion pedals)
If you don't want to spend 300 bucks Id go for the metal master, I've got one and still use it occasionally, or I'd suggest a modified Boss MT-2, but I'm pretty picky too so It comes down to, again a combination of what sounds best to you and how much you want to spend.
