In the UK right now theres a band that have emerged with a following Ive never see. The band "The Darkness" are massive right now, and everyone likes them! I mean everyone! My mum.. my girl.. my friends! They have sold out tour dates and tickets for for hundreds on ebay! They are a cheesy rock band, goaties and hairbands! They do have cool riffs n guitar solos though.
Just wondered if you guys had heard of them yet? They are gona be massive!

I wouldn't say glam rock rip-off, more of a glam rock piss take. Definatley not to be taken serious but the riffs and solos are pretty good. Plus its gettin guitar to the masses and not in a trendy Linkin Park power chord only kinda way. The songs are really catchy, I sang for for about a week once, which did become annoying. BUt overall good for the scene and I like em.

I think they're funny! I agree with Slasher, they take the piss out of glam rock rather than revere it. The singer is very distinctive and has a massive falsetto range. The guitar player can solo which is rare in famous bands these days. yep, I actually like some of what they play daft as it is.

When I used to work at a solicitors I used to get bored and send my friends stupid emails of anything that popped into head, just ramblings that made no sense. N this friend actually thought I was being serious and sat and analysed them. Just that line stuck with me, its kinda funny n gets peoples attention, but has no meanings. It is a Slasher original, I'm kinda proud of it.

Having a massive falsetto range is per definition not that hard. I can hit the highest D on the piano singing falsetto. Sounds like whistling. All the real singers you hear singing really high (Dream Theater, Sun Caged, Symphony X, Dragonforce, etc.) are trained to be able to sing that way without using falsetto. It's considered cheating to singers the same way we would consider somebody playing an Yngwie solo using legato. Kinda cheap.
