Just wanted to let ya'll know that I saw the Derek Trucks band in concert this weekend. If you don't know, Derek played slide guitar for the Allman Brothers for 4 years. He's an incredible guitar player and the best that I have ever seen. When the concert was over, my mouth just dropped for about 2 hours.

I remember seeing him when he was a wee lad of 13. He was an incredible slide player then also.

I saw him a few years ago when he came through town. He was opening for Eric Johnson.

He's ok I guess. I just have a hard time digging the style, i don't know why people still go into it.

He was with the Allman Bros at the Ottawa Bluesfest in July. I wasn't too impressed with the band. They seemed to think they were above al lother bands and made their stuff look really complicated. They are good musicians, but the fact that their egos were so high, kind of turned me off from them, I went to the "blacksheep stage" because the bands there were unknown and not snobs, just good guys looking for a break.

Well he was pretty modest at this concert, but his drummer and keyboardist weren't.
