Now, I've always been the type who would rather listen to an album in it's entirety than just a few songs off of it, so to me a great album is something like Morphine's "Cure for Pain" that grabs your emotoins and drags them all over creation. Buena picks you up, and then I'm Free Now immediatly brings you into a reflective meloncholy (which is where the rest of the album does most of it's work). Also, the songwriting and dynamics are great, while on the other hand, Morphine's usual line up consisted of two string slide bass, sax, and drums- you won't find any great guitar solos here. I would also put STP's Tiny Music and Primus' Frizzle Fry on this list too, but for slightly differing reasons (more techniqe heavy, less moody in the case of Frizzle Fry).
So, what makes a great album for you folks?

Go out and buy Failure's Fantastic Planet. Put it in your CD changer, turn off or dim all your lights, relax and just listen while having a drink. That is fine listening. Listening to it is like reading a book. It has climaxes and anticlimaxes, tales of happiness and unhappiness and changes tones overy second. Pure audio bliss.

Download their song "Stuck On You" from Napaster. It's awesome.
