Ive been playing now for seven months but in actually about three to four because of school getting in the way. I wanna improve but i dont wanna do the same old stuff like scales. Does anyone know of a site that has tab's of decent songs (preferably rock but other songs will do) that are easy to learn and help build self confidence.

I really like MXtabs.net,(not a plug) they have songs from any style of music, and they are rated by the users. So in that case you can always check to see the best one.

Check out ACDC...They have great songs for beginners...or even early Black Sabbath, Ted Nugent (Cat Scratch Fever was one of the first songs I ever learned to play), Even Danzig is great for beginners as well.

Benoit is just really nice

Good old metallica should do the trick.

Try songs like Fade to black, Orion, Call of Ktullu, About every song from the black album too. They have some harder song but in general their stuff is not so hard. Like anything else, it takes practice. Tehy always have at least one easy riff per song, take your pick.

I'm from the generation that actually bought the tab books! You should be able to find them on the net anyway but buying those books is a good investment, I learned a lot with them. I recommmend Ride the lightning and the black album for beginners.

Yeah I'm from that generation too (I'm 30). I have a ton of tab books.

As far as Metallica goes...definately Kill 'Em All (the first album) is great for beginners.

Seek and Destroy, Am I Evil, are probably the easiest to learn and are definately a blast to play. My band will sometimes play those songs for fun during practice. We're all from the same generation and like a lot of the same music.
