dropD- the easy way
Well, altho it seems that your song didn't need this sort of drop D, i thought i'd tell you the easy way. This is the version that Muse tend to use for their songs.
To tune into drop D the easy way, tune your guitar as normal. i.e. fretting the 2nd string at the fifth fret and tuning that note to the open 1st string etc. (i take it you know that method?)
Once you reach tuning the 6th string, fret it at the seventh fret. then tune down until that fretted note is equal in pitch to the open 5th string. in diagramatic form, it should look like this
E
B
G
D
A
D
that version is not only a hell of a lot easier to tune down and back again, but also makes Barre chords (well, power chords), a doddle to play. hope that helps you with any future songs.
