i've noticed that when people talk about great songwriters, they never mention Steve Harris, maiden's main lyricist. He explores the darker side of the lyrical spectrum. in my opinion, he's up there with Robert Plant and Roger Waters. Just listen to songs like the Trooper, Run to the Hills, and others. He's great.
