I think they use EMG pickups, those are active pickups that use batteries. That helps to drive the amp harder.

It seems as though I read/heard that Kirk uses Line6 amps. I could be wrong but seems like I heard this somewhere.

There's no way Kirk would use Line 6....... he uses Randall and used to use Mesa stuff.

I stand corrected. Like I said, just something I had heard.
George Lynch uses Randall as well.
