To acheive the most righteous groove!

Help me come up with a list of solo's I need to learn to do just that -

its been a while but heres what I've learnt and will be learning

If you guys could contribute - maybe have the list in increasing difficulty.

And a variety of styles is welcomed

disclaimer:Not showing off or asking for attention just want solo's that i have to learn to be a competent guitarist someday.

So far I've learnt:
GNR -
don't cry,
knocking on heavens door(I know its a dylan cover),
sweet child,
november rain,

Led zep:
stairway

metallica
One
fade to black
Nothing else matters

Hendrix
Purple Haze
All along the watchtower

Ozzy osbourne:
crazy train
Mr. Crowley

Opeth:
Windopane
Benighted
Face of melinda
the drapery falls
hope leaves

Children of Bodom -
bodom after midnight
bed of razors,

To learn :
Michael Jacksons - beat it - just to widen my slash chops
Katatonia - twin
Children of bodom - tribute to Iron maiden - Aces high
Children of bodom - Lake bodom
Children of bodom - down fall
Children of bodom - deadknight warrior
Children of bodom - kissing the shadows
Children of bodom - silent nigh bodom night
Ozzy osbourne - perry mason
Ozzy osbourne - No more tears
Dire straits - sultans of swing
Eric clapton - tribute to hendrix - all along the watchtower
Vai - cross roads solo
Michael romeo - intro to his video tutorial
Michael Angelo - intro to his video tutorial
Megadeth - can't decide what to learn hanger 18 or Holy wars
Pantera - cemetery gates
Aerosmith - sing for the moment
(and maybe if no ones watching - some bon jovi but shhh...)

Well thats all I can think of for now -
All styles of rock are welcomed -

btw whats good to learn by def leopard, white snake, ratt, or quiet riot?

I'd say throw in Cudge Boogie by Johnny Hiland, and maybe one or two John 5 solo tracks, as well as acouple Johhny A songs...it'll be great to vary it up a bit.

Hey guys,
Akira, thanks for the input - i'm trying to get a variety of styles down - thought i should braoden my horizons a bit and try something new.

I've looked into some yngwie - black star and echo etude seems nice for an -'intro to yngwie' kinda songs. Alice in chains made the list too.

Andrew Sa:

Thanks for the reply - I liked alot of John 5's work with manson - you have any particular songs that are worth learning? I liked some of his variety and yet he still kept the goth themes - I liked rock is dead nice use of harmonics, but also some of mansons earlier work is excellent with like cake and sodomy and other tracks of the portrait album.

Btw whats good by Johnny A?

ANd do any of you guys know any good songs by rush?

I'll also point out that in order to become a competant guitarist, you might want to learn other things than just solo's.

If anything man, throw in some acoustic jams. Everything on you list seems to be condensed into 80's shred metal.
