Check the other thread called "Finger Warm-ups". There's a ton of stuff in there that Skee1 and I have already posted.

Pick= down up down up ect.

Ok, so I've been slacking off.

Warm-up lick #3 -

Code:
E |---------------7-9/12--10-9--------------------------------------| B |--------7-8-10--------------12-10-7-8----------------------------| G |----9---------------------------------9-6-7----------------------| D |--9---9-------------------------------------9-7-5---4------------| A |--------------------------------------------------7---5----------| E |--------------------------------------------------------3~~~~~~--| E |------------------------------------------------------------------| B |--------------7-8/12--10-7-8--------------------------------------| G |--------6-7-9----------------9-6-7--------------------------------| D |----9------------------------------9-7-5---5----------------------| A |--9---9----------------------------------9---9-7-5---5------------| E |---------------------------------------------------9---7-5-5/7~~--|

This is a good exercise in string jumping and skipping around, and as an added bonus, it sounds kind of celtic.

Heres another exercise that also could be used in a riff.
Also try useing a pull-off going from 10-9 on the first two notes.

Code:
[E--10h9--------------------------------7--] [B-------root-note>10--------------8-------] [G-----------------------9\7---9-----------]Repeat: [D-----------------------------------------] [A-----------------------------------------] [E-----------------------------------------] 2 1 2 1 1 3 2 1 Below: are two Ending's that could be used to end it after, the last 7 note above on the high E is picked. Ending=1. E[-----10\12-----------] B[---------------------] G[---------------------] D[---------------------] A[---------------------] E[---------------------] 4 4 Ending=2 E[--10h9-----------10\12-] B[--------10-------------] G[-------------9---------] D[-----------------------] A[-----------------------] E[-----------------------] 2 1 2 1 2 2

P:S Try it all over the finger board.
Mark

Hey, that's a pretty cool lick, Skee.

Very "Vai" sounding.
