I've got a local coffee house that I'm going to play at really soon, but I'm just trying to finalize my set. I'm gonna do all of the songs with just myself and an acoustic guitar... it's a great atmosphere for that. So far I have a few originals to do.... and then I plan on doing covers of: Glycerine (Bush), All Along the Watchtower, Wonderwall (Oasis), Time of Your Life (Greenday), Freebird, Brick (Ben Folds Five), Hows It Going to Be (Third Eye Blind), Hanging By A Moment (Lifehouse), Time (Hootie & Blowfish), Estoy Aquí (Shakira... haha, its cool), & Layla. I'm still working on some others also... but I want to try to fill a two hour slot with a 15 minute break. Does anyone have suggestions of nice mellow acoustic pieces I could play in order to fill that timeslot? Thanks...

Hmmm, I wish I still had the songlist I used for a similar sort of thing. I am a huge fan of Bob Dylan (two more days until I see him live), as some people might have noticed. Songs like Just like a woman (listening to it now), Don't think twice, Lay lady lay, the songs of his that don't have the all too familiar 1, 4, 5, that make many of his songs sound the same if you don't have a lead guitarist playing any unique lines. Autumn Leaves, Gee Baby aint I good to you, jazz standards like that are good if you are into that kind of thing.
Ummm, looking through some of my stuff....
The Boxer is a great song, specially to get people singing along, heaps of people know it. Also, Neil Young songs, like Old Man, and The Needle and the Damage done.
Can't think of many more at the moment that work for solo and voice, but I hope this helps.

Cool, though I would have gone for One Angry Dwarf and 200 Solem Faces, Song for the Dumped, or possibly Uncle Walter... none of those are mellow though.
