korg ax3000g

Price Paid:- £180 (rrp £250)

Pros
Great sound
Very tweakable
Not overly complicted, so good for people still learning, vry few menus and sub menus
Great Wah
Distortions are excelent ranging from old clasic twangy over drive to new metal dirt, really this thing cn really go over board on gain.
Very nice acoustic simulator
Very sturdy chasis looks like it will take a hell of a lot of abuse
The time to change between patches is unnoticable
Good tuner
Differant eq setting depending on what t is plugged into ie amp, mixer
Effects are very nice , good reverb, delays.......
Optical jack for recording
Very good noise gate
Cons
Some of the smaller controls look a little flimsy ecause they are plastic and stand up quite high however everything can be controled from a small control panel so if something does brek ts not the end of the world
Plastic jacks for everything
I cant seem to find a nice twangy clean sound but there has to be one there somewhere
No usb recording

When i opened the box this thing looked very complicted (having never used anything like it before) after about 3 hours of browsing the manua and trying out differant thing i had a prety good idea of how the thing works, after trying out differant settings and sounds i have dialled in some very nice sounds. Straight out of the box there are a cuple of nice presets but they dont really show the thing it can really do, they just give a taster.

I really recomend this to anyone looking for a reletivly cheap multieffects unit as it is a very nice and easy to use. I would recomend this over a pod 2.0 or vamp, minly pecause it has all the pedels built in.
im 100% happy i got mine

Cool review ! Looks like a nice bit of kit.

Do you know what the frequency / resolution (i.e. 96 KHz @ 24 bit) is outputted via the digital optical out ?

Is the optical out S/P DIF ?
