Lowering guitar action

My new Taylor 110 acoustic guitar's action is too high to play comfortably...anyway to lower it?

two ways... tighten the truss rod. this adjusts the relief of the neck... making it more straight than bowed. you can only adjust it so far before the strings will start to buzz though... trial and error kind of thing. second way is more involved and not really recommended unless you're confident in your luthier skills... you can sand the bridge saddle down. at your bridge, you have a solid piece of bone or material of-the-like. you can remove that and sand a little bit of the bottom off... take a little at a time until you get the height you want... after you do that you may need to adjust truss rod to compensate for the lower action and reduce fret buzz on the higher registers. normally manufacturers use a shorter saddle and shim up to the height rather than going the other way.
