Ah... The concert season...
The concert season rapidly is approaching and it looks like it's going to be a good one. I can already smell the beer soaked grass, marijuana freely floating through the air, and the guy beside me that obviously is going to both Sunday and Monday nights concert and is obviously staying in the campground that doesn't have showers......... I can hear the sweet sounds of Dave Matthews' Taylor acoustic guitars... The sound of Jack Johnson's sweet melodies... The beautiful solos of Ozzfest... The sounds of obnoxious people singing out of key very loudly next to me... and of course the sound of that guy puking over there........... I can already see the spectacular light shows and fancy backgrounds... The stars shining bright above the lawn at Verizon Wireless Music Center... and the back of the head of the freakishly tall dude standing in front of me... and his ugly girlfriend who keeps stepping on my foot. I can feel the grass on my toes... because I once again went against my better judgement and wore sandles... I can feel the bass drum rumbling my chest and the treble piercing through the ever-so thick mix of musical bliss... and of course I can also feel the rain beginning to pour down on me... and I'm too stubborn to pay 20 dollars for a piece of plastic called a Poncho to cover up with... I also feel the cool Indiana night breeze... and I can feel the nice warm blanket mother nature places over you as she wisks the breeze away... I CANNOT feel the buzz from these 12 dollar margaritas... they taste good... but for real... how can you call that an alcoholic beverage... screw all this "I feel" stuff... Give me a frikkin beer so I can feel wasted...................

Crowds, as in the days of the gladiators, cheering mass, chaotic approval: bestowing perfect absolution on anyone who wishes to hear. Their cheers mark concert season--mark and identify, identify and glorify, glorify and immortalize. Onward and forever, so does concert season abide--subsisting in eternal summer: cyclic and neverending.

Ah... the sweet sweet season I waste all my money on... of course I'm not talking about Christmas... I'm talking about concert season...

Something about concerts, I guess. I like them. They smell funny and make my head do a dance.
|
I'm going to a concert tomorrow. A friend of mine booked it and all three of his bands are opening. I tried to get one of mine in there, but we're still a bit too new to the scene to be of any value. Some of the bigger names that are showing up are Cattle Decapitation and AC (you know what I mean). 16 bands and $20 bucks, bargain if you ask me.

Kickass. That sounds fun. |

It should be. They were trying to get Malevolent Creation as well since the last time they were here they got screwed over on their set and had to cut it short, so this was kind of an opportunity to right a wrong, but I guess that didn't pan out. |

I've never heard of any of these bands you speak of, but still. Sixteen bands for $20? Even if they all suck (which is unlikely, with 16 of them), it'd be worth it. |

The last time I went to an event like this, it was the same scenario. 16 bands, $20. A lot of them sucked, but the ones that were good really made up for it. The only thing that really bugs me about it is this is going to be the third time I've seen Estuary and to be honest, I don't get the hype over them. They came out of nowhere, have one CD out that's the epitome of mediocre and everyone acts like it's a breakthrough in music. The first time I liked them, the second time I was bored. I'm afraid to see them again for a fear that I might start throwing things at them. |
i'm going to see Destruction in a couple months,,,,i did not know they still existed..you probably would enjoy this Cryptic :D

When AC is one of the "big names" you need to start finding new venues. |

Destructicon!!! Mentor of Evil!!!!
Now tell me that's not funny. |

It said "Inventor of Evil," but yes, it is funny. |

That means my show's gonna be better than yours. |
I've never been to a proper metal gig before, but we don't often get decent bands playing over here - it's mostly just disposable hardcore and grindcore bands, which I can't stand. I missed Megadeth last year, which was a pain - I really want to see them live before they break up, which they look like they're set to do any moment now :( .

Did I mention that Gorgasm will be there? How cool is that? |
Quote:
Gorgasm... they're one of those disgusting, depraved extreme death metal bands who sing about necrophilia and body fluids, aren't they? I can't stand listening to that stuff; I suppose the live show must be... interesting... |
