All Hail The King!!!!!!
As you may or may not know, typing the same search parameters into different search engines may well give you very different results. Not knowing this, back in 2001, I used Yahoo to search for guitar related stuff, and perhaps not being very good at navigating the internet, I didn't come up with much. Then someone told me about google, and through it, I found www.guitarnoise.com, and through them, I found www.guitartricks.com/forum. Yes, the forum drew me here.
And so I signed up. It's been slightly over three years since the fact, and it's been quite an experience, I must say. I've laughed. I hope I've made laugh. I've learned. I hope I've taught. I've been gifted. I've also gifted. I've made friends. I hope I've become a friend. I've been pissed off. I know I've pissed some people off. And in doing all this, I've racked up 999 posts. This is my 1000th. From my introductory thread right to my 999th one, this collection of screen names has become a habit that invariably takes up about an hour or two of my day, every day, whenever I have access to the net. I've loved being here. The good, the bad and the ugly (there has been all of that). And I hope to continue being here. Here's to the next 1000 posts. Now, go on and hail him!!:D |

First of all, that's a good flick. Secondly, congrats on the large number of posts. With you at 1,000 and Lordathestrings quickly approaching 4 I'm a bit frightened at our amount of free time... Of course, I do most of my posting between the hours of 1am and 2pm...mainly because I don't feel like getting out of bed in the morning... like right now...it's 1:40 pm...13:40 for all you foreign "blokes." And I'm still in bed... I need clinical help. Oops, went on a tangent there, sorry, Dave! Congrats on the post count! |
My name is also David, so it's kinda cool that we both made our 1000th post within a day of each other.

Happy thousand post days both !
I hope you both continue to enjoy GT !! (The first thousand are always the hardest !) |
Say, I can'y change my "title" unless I'm a highbandwidth guy?
That's not fair. it used to be you could change it when you got to 1000. Now I can't? Do you know how long it takes to get to 1000 (assuming you normally post quality and when necessary)? It's like your wife telling you that you're not really the biological father of your 19 year old daughter. Not fair. I've no beef with the bandwidth fee, but seeing as I don't use the lessons here (that's just me, has nothing to do with the quality of the lessons or anything), I can't pay up just to have my screen name read "The African King". That's what I wanted way back when I was on 125 posts, and feeling very hot for becoming a senior member (even starting this thread), and although it's sounding kinda lame to me right now, I still want it! |

 How do you like your name pronounced? I like it pronounced the way Mrs. Palmer (or ex Mrs Palmer from season 2) of 24 does it. Kinda like Dayvayd. |
you will have to talk to Jon about that.
send him an email stating your case. I think, as a thousand poster he may be able to sort something out ! |
