Please help with melodys

Hello
I'm having problems writting melodys. Most of my songs start out clean and then work in to distortion. but I can't seem to write melodys that blend(that I can slide into the heavy parts with.) Am I just not creative enough? My main influence is weezer. I would appreciate any help I can get.

There isn't much to do besides practice, practice and practice!
Also, don't restict yourself to one style of music or only a few guitarist. Try listening to everything, sort out what they do, what in the song/solo makes the good melody even better? Try playing along with the stereo to some classic rock or pop-songs wich usually has some strong melody-lines.
Training your ear is a MUST to become a better musician!
