same styles.. and it's the first time I've seen anyone else doing what he's doing... on a side note, he uses Doolin guitars... the reason I bring it up is because the guy makes em' , Mike Doolin, made him a sick double neck acoustic which you can see on the website

seeing something like that blows me away initially. it's some decent finger picking right, something i've never done. he puts his hand around the other way to hit those higher pulloffs with his middle finger as he's doing the hammeron bass lines right. wonder if that's an original technique of his? nice work on harmonics right ... what tuning do you think that is? something in D? lets analyze it to crap so i can feel better about myself. finger picking seems like a superior technique than using a pick in this instance.

that fast stuff around :45 and 1:27 is just him bouncing a line against the open strings below right? actually come to think of it, a lot of that is keeping those open strings on top ringing and intermixing an open string inbetween notes of a riff. benifits of finger picking i guess to be able to control that. sounds complex but i figure it's all fingerpicking, impossible to pull off with a pick.

i think since he is you friend it would be a cool idea to ask him to join the guitarbattle-hosts, or at least write a tutorial where he explains the various aspects of his technique.
