Pull Offs

I've tried and tried and tried and I just don't understand how to do pull offs. I've tried flicking my finger and just simply pulling off of the string. I'm getting ready to destroy my guitar. Any pointers at all would help.

Settle down and don't take it out on the guitar. Pull-offs take a little bit of practice, and a good way is by doing trems. Like striking a note and hammering on and off another note. Like 7t8. You would strike seven and hammer on and pull off 8.

To create a pulloff, just strike the string and pull your finger off with a downward motion. Keep practicing, you will get it.

What do you mean by "pull off in a downward motion" do you like pluck the the string while you're pulling your finger off or what?

Nope....
lets say you are doing this

8poff7....

Then you would keep your finger on 8 strike the string, make your finger come off the string with a downward motion.

You only need to strike the string once when doing a pull-off.

say you were doing 7pull5 you would put your third finger on the 7 then put your first finger on the five. strike the 7 then pull your third finger off,remember you have to have your first finger on on the 5 as you pull off.

Can i add something here about that?
i have an exercice solo and somewhere in the solo you have to pull off 4 times but in upward direction. like:

can't play the guitar either ! :)

is this pull off-thing just practice?
