Did anyone else get a chance to check out this show on MTV? I was pretty disturbed by it. They had these twins who were obsessed with looking like Brad Pitt go through a series of plastic surgery so that they would look just like him. Man, plastic surgery strikes me as very painful and extremely unneccesary. I blame the image-driven media for inundating us with this nonsense. The best part was this hot chick still not liking one of the twins who was obsessed with her even after he spent thousands of dollars on all this surgery. SUCKER!

Imitating someone famous is a bit absurd, I think, but plastic surgery does have its merits. Check out the show Extreme Makeovers. I think in many cases, it made their lives better.

Yeah, if a face has a chance to cure some abnormalty or disfigurment by surgery in order to raise self-esteem, confidence etc then by all means I'm for it. Changing your face for a reality show in order to look like a celebrity and win over some girl in my opinion is a prime example of what's wrong with this industry.

Did it work?

If it did, I think I'll start saving up!

No, you could still tell it was them, not brad pitt clones. They did look a whole lot better, but they had all sorts of stuff done. Porcelain teeth put in, chin implants, cheek implants, rhinoplasty. I guess to them it was worth it.

No, that's exactly what I meant - I want to look just like Brad Pitt. I think he's a cool guy. Unfortunately, I'm Oriental, so it would probably take more surgery than for a white dude.

eggman, that could be a small problem... the Asian part that is...

What's really really really friggin sad is that the two guys still looked squat like Brad Pitt, and still didn't look good either. My girlfriend and her friends were like "well, they're less ugly than they were, but, they're still ugly."

In regards to the girl still not liking him... he could try being a trifle less superficial and image obsessed, could help some...

Mel Gibson has had plastic surgery to look the way he does, I mean sure his face was disfigured because some one robbed him for $20, beat him to within an inch of his life and left him. But he still got surgery to look like someone famous, himself.
