All this talk about harry potter got me thinking who would win in a fight?
Gandalf of 'Lord of the Rings' or Prof. Dumbledore of 'harry potter'
I'm gonna say Gandalf, but it would be a pretty good fight, even though those two would never have to fight

Gandalf the white or gandalf the grey? Even though they're the same people, gandalf the white , I think, is practicially invincible and is alot stronger. Since he's like a fallen angel or something. I haven't seen Harry Potter.

Star Wars used to be my religion before I hit puberty. I'll bet Yoda or even the Emperor could take both of them out, but maybe not at the same time.

hell no
I'm thinking Yoda would put up a better fight than the emperor, but Gandalf the White would easily take them both

As cool as Gandalf is. What he does isn't really ALL that impressive. He's talented with a sword, and can seem to exhibit some kind of magical 'force'. But how useful is that against someone like Dumbledore?

man, everybody mentioned is a product of someone's imagination. enter Hemdoriwoienapoiqnwerpa9oiehj my special character with unlimited imagination and power and the intellegence of a ****ing super wizard squared and supermind and all this. it's all relative. if i were to believe in wizardry i may as well believe in afterlife and christianity. maybe even satanism. enter slayer.

I believe that Hemdoriwoienapoiqnwerpa9oiehj (basics special character) has a weakness to large inflatable novelty hands. :D
As for the question at hand I would say Gandalf (the white), he has a lot more power then he shows in both the books and the movies.

He probably is. But we have no way of knowing that.

hahaha, I love hypothetical matchups like these.
I guess it depends who wrote out the fight, Tolkien or Rowling. Obviously the character belonging to whoever authored the fight would win. If we're basing the outcome on the merits of the characters alone I'd have to go with Gandalf because (and I'm in the middle of the "Order of the Phoenix" right now) Dumbledore is always being alluded to as an extremely powerful wizard, yet he's never really done any "fighting".
Back when I was like 13-15 I read the crap out of this series of books called Dragonlance. There was a character who was a mage in these books called Raistlin, one of my favorite and most dynamic characters I've ever encountered. I believe that he'd mop the floor with both of these guys.

Yoda (like the one in episode 2) could take anybody.... Gandalf the white might seem invincable.... but Yoda's like two feet tall!!!!!
And he's got the force!!!
