Ok, I've just been challenged by a friend of mine to play Paradigm Shift by Liquid Tension Experiment (Petrucci).

Is it just me, or does the intro to this song have 12 notes a second?

Beware of friends of friends, sometimes they may not exist, and they could also be imaginary.

Yes, but, as a gentle reminder, if the money stops flowin', I'm gonna quit.

I used to have several, they were introduced to me by an imaginary friend. The imaginary bit in this case was the friend bit, sadly the person existed. Many long letters later this real imaginery friend started going out with my sister who wanted kids. The imaginary friends he'd introduced me to seemed more and more spurious all the time, there was no consistency to their characters, whatsmore how could a guy who lives in a vicarage in a little village possibly know so many guitarists who could kick MY ass? I wrote a poem about it. I'd heard so much about her, really liked what I thought I knew of her, I wanted to meet her. That couldn't have happened because SHE WAS FICTITIOUS. My real imaginary friend was worried that the disclosure of his duplicitous double-dealings and the hours I'd spent writing to people who didn't exist might make me resent his going out with my sister and try and split them so he 'killed' her with a drug overdose. I wrote to her imaginary brother and sister commiserating them on her death and saying I'd nearly lost my own sister the same way and I know how hard it must be. My real but imaginary friend continued to go out with my sister long after this revelation had been unearthed. A better advert for contraception I have never met than that guy. There's no such thing as a human gyroscope, nobody can remain upstanding after so much spin.

The Irony?

None of you will know if this is true because it's on the web!

See, Eggman, this kind of joke is why I pay you all that bread.

You give Eggman head?

lol....

I don't know if im gonna learn this song or not.... I could learn it within about 2 weeks probably up to speed and play it... but not live... my performance lowers by about 50%.

Im afraid im gonna have to say that 15 year old could kick my ass. I got the song up to speed.... then realised it was 210bpm at 3/4...and I got it up to speed at 4/4..haha, now thats annoying.

I think i'll keep working on Far Beyond The Sun for now :) Still can't do it all clean, and i've always wanted to be able to play it. First really technically impressive song I heard.

I don't have any friends, real or imaginary :(

P.S. - u10ajf - that was quite possibly one of the most confusing posts I've ever read...

You gotta watch out for those "so called" imaginary friends... who's to say they really are imaginary... just because no one else can see them, doesn't mean they aren't real... they could be lost souls from the other side trying to make contact with the living in the form of an imaginary friend... Of course if I didn't believe we were all from the Mother Ship and bound to go back to the homeworld when we die, in order to be replanted, I would probably buy that one...

Fool! the Mother ship will never replant you unless you take your own life and of course castrate yourself on the twelfth of June!

He's right - I did that, but it was on the eleventh of June, and the mother ship just flew on by. Boy, did I look silly...
