Recording to a laptop?
Just wondering if anyone knows much about recording onto a Laptop PC?

My laptop has only a mic in on it and that doesnt get any sort of volume when trying to record my guitar.

I have the Acid Music software which id like to use for some drum beats and rythms and record my guitar ideas.

I have an external TV card which has two audio line ins (left and right) which are the same connections on the back of a VCR or DVD.

Is this an input that may do the trick if i can somehow get a microphone connection that can have those two outputs on the end of it??

I really want to use the computer for recording as opposed to the old 4 track we have as there is much more i can add as well as recording many different tracks very easily, if i can just get an input in to the computer!

Could someone please help me with recording to a Laptop??

do you have a credit card input slot called a
PCIMCIA or something similar

you can buy breakout boxes that interface with these or a fire wire / USB port.

If your laptop doesn't have either, I'd forget it.
