Hello, I was listening to Hotel California with my freind when he asked what does Colitas mean. I could think of about 6 or 7 different meanings but am not sure which one it is. I'm not bothered by it I would just like to know.

Never heard of the word.
Did you maybe mean Colitis.... an inflammatory bowel disease?

umm... no... I believe the line is "Warm smell of colitas risin' up through the air..."
I would imagine it's a food of sorts. Definitely a Spanish word.

Colitis in Mexican means ‘little tail’ or ‘little bud’, witch I think is a reference to smoking a bud of marijuana.
