I finally sold my PODxt, so now I'm strictly using my peavey XXX head through a marshall 1960a cab. What I can't decide on is whether or not to go for the boss ME-50 multi effects pedal or go with the real thing. All I need are chorus, delay, reverb, wah, tuner, and possibly a boost pedal such as a tube screamer. I know the ME-50 would be the cheaper rout and have more options, but would the extra cost of the individual pedals be worth it?

I think so, I played one of those big multi-effects for about 2 hours at a music store, and still preferred the sound of the $50 overdrive pedal to any of the settings on the multi.

Multi-effects are more versatile and easier to switch between different sounds , but sometimes harder to program and get the desired tone ... I'd recomend a multi-effect.

I would go with the individual products because you have more control over the quality and specs of all the parts you mentioned as well as being able to pick from different companies as your taste dictates, and on top of that you won't be paying for stuff you wouldn't and won't use.

But paying for stuff that your won't use in the multi-effect is actualy more economical than buying a bunch of pedals , cables & their power supplies.

Good point. A lot of this issue depends on if the the stomps available are better sounding than the multi. If they sound better I think it's worth the difference.
