Duncans are great pickups, but I personally go more toward DiMarzio, especially if we're talking hard rock/metal here. I have a DiMarzio Tone Zone in my Kramer Baretta and I can tell you it is a deadly combination. The ToneZone is one of the best pickups I've ever had the pleasure of playing.

But otherwise, just do a search, there are a few volumes of discussion on pickups here.

I've got noiseless pickups in my fender strat. They keep me happy.

Seymour Duncan, Dimarzio (hell yeah), and Bareknuckle pickups are nice.

If you're a slipknot fan just grab a set of EMGs and bang a way.
