Yes, you will need to sweep pick that. Just down pick through the three strings. Then up pick back up if you want, or are supposed to if its part of a song you've learnt

No, he's saying he down-picks the highest note, then up-picks the two other ones. That's also a way of doing it, and certain sweep patterns will force you to do so.

I've always thought os weeping as playing a chord...but not. Just remember, each note must begin and end before the next
